About The Healthy Living Centre
To achieve good quality health and social care within our community, it is crucial
to bring the various elements of community care together so that they can work
together in a co-ordinated fashion and be accessible to those who need them as
easily as possible. It is also necessary to provide modern and up-to-date facilities
for those services.
Healthy Living Centre will do this by providing:
- GPs' surgery
- Community pharmacy
- Dental surgery
- District nursing base
- Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy facilities
- 16 acute NHS community beds
- 30 bedded care home
- Social and welfare services & more.
The Challenge
The Healthy Living Centre and the services that emanate from it will be as
comprehensive and integrated as possible. Waveney Healthcare CIC is an opportunity for true local involvement and ownership of our future care. We have benefited from the generosity and foresight of previous generations who built Southwold Hospital. The vision is that in turn we can endow the community with facilities to provide the same and better care to meet the challenges of 21st century.
Next Steps
We have set ourselves the challenge of recruiting 1000 + supporters for Reydon and Southwold Healthy Living Centre in the next four months, May – August 2008. This will enable Waveney Healthcare to be actively engaged in the planning phase.
